Why I do what I do…

“Birth is not just about making babies. Birth is about making mothers– strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.” ~Barbara Katz Rothman

And that is why I do what I do…

I have experienced the transformative power of birthing in this way. It healed every part of my body that I thought was broken and affected my soul so completely that I just can’t keep quiet about how AMAZING birth can be!

Teaching couples how to prepare for the birth of their baby is more than just a privilege for me… it’s a calling. My own birth and loss stories have given me a greater understanding of the necessity to support women in every stage of motherhood. Whether trying to conceive, newly pregnant, nearing delivery, or recovering from the heartbreak of losing a baby, I know well the need for encouragement at every stage during the childbearing years.

Regardless of whether her baby is born at home or in a hospital, I believe a woman’s preparedness during pregnancy and the informed choices she makes along the way will be an integral part of who she will be as a mother.

It certainly was for me! And I know it can be just the same for you too.
